The new server core is almost ready for release. To make the official launch go smoothly, on September 24 at 16:00 we need to run a final check under real load and with real players. Synthetic tests can't replace a live online. We need to make sure that no item, quest, spell or other data is lost during the transfer. And to anticipate all problems in advance rather than fixing them in a rush on release day, we will temporarily switch the main server to the new core for exactly two hours to find the problems we haven't noticed. All your current progress will remain completely safe.
What will happen:
— On September 24 at 16:00 the server will be restarted
— A minute later you will be able to log in again, and the server will already be running on the new core
— Your characters will be rolled back about an hour — don't be alarmed, this is expected
— Once in the game, you will be among the first to see the new core in real conditions: duel, run BGs, go raiding and so on. Report any bugs you find in LFG right away — we will be in the game watching for problems.
— At 18:00 the server will restart again and switch back to the old core. Your characters will be restored to the moment of the first restart (16:00)
— From then on you can keep playing as usual
No loot, experience or achievements earned between 16:00 and 18:00 will carry over to the main server. This is a test period created solely to find bugs and check stability. We are deliberately holding it outside prime time so as not to get in the way of your play.
