Title: [Hunter] Aspect of the Viper – Extremely Low Mana Regeneration Since Core Update Character: Aligato Class: Hunter Bug Description Since the recent core update, Aspect of the Viper seems to provide almost no mana regeneration. The issue is particularly noticeable in arenas and battlegrounds, but I suspect it affects all types of content, including PvE. Before the core update, Aspect of the Viper allowed me to continuously use my abilities while still recovering mana. Now, once I run out of mana (OOM), activating the aspect barely makes any difference. I often have to wait 3–4 GCDs to regenerate enough mana for a single ability, and casting it immediately consumes most of the mana recovered. My Hunter has Intelligence enchants on both weapons, as well as Intelligence gems to increase my mana pool. Despite this setup, mana regeneration feels almost nonexistent. I have also noticed that I run OOM more frequently in raids, particularly when I don't benefit from mana regeneration buffs or effects provided by other classes. However, this is harder to evaluate in raids because those external effects can mask the issue. Expected Behavior Aspect of the Viper should provide mana regeneration consistent with the intended TBC mechanics, allowing Hunters to progressively recover mana during combat. Request Could the developers please verify Aspect of the Viper's mana regeneration calculations across all content, especially since the core update? I cannot confirm whether regeneration was overtuned on the previous core or is currently undertuned, but the difference is massive. At the moment, Aspect of the Viper feels almost completely ineffective. Thank you.
How to reproduce
1. Log in with a level 70 Hunter (Character: Aligato). 2. Enter an arena or battleground. 3. Engage in combat and use abilities until your mana is depleted (OOM). 4. Activate Aspect of the Viper. 5. Continue attempting to use abilities while monitoring mana regeneration. 6. Observe that mana regenerates extremely slowly, often requiring 3–4 GCDs to recover enough mana for a single ability. 7. Compare mana regeneration with Aspect of the Viper active and inactive. The issue is most noticeable in PvP, but it may also affect PvE content.
What should happen
Aspect of the Viper should restore mana according to its intended TBC mechanics, including mana regeneration during combat. With the aspect active, a Hunter should be able to progressively recover mana and regain the ability to use spells without remaining almost permanently OOM. The current behavior appears significantly different from the previous core and should be checked against the official TBC 2.4.3 mechanics. Proof: Official TBC Classic spell reference: https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/spell=34074/aspect-of-the-viper According to the spell description, Aspect of the Viper regenerates up to 55% of the Hunter's Intellect plus 35% of the Hunter's level every 5 seconds. The lower the Hunter's remaining mana, the greater the regeneration should be. Please verify whether this formula is correctly implemented on the new core, particularly when the Hunter is OOM and during combat.

Aspect of the Viper is working correctly

I strongly disagree that Aspect of the Viper is working correctly. I've played Hunter extensively in TBC PvP, including at 2200+ arena rating on several private servers such as AT, Warmane and WoMania, and I've never experienced mana regeneration this poor. The difference since the core update is massive. Previously, Aspect of the Viper allowed me to maintain pressure while regenerating mana. Now, once OOM, I often have to wait 3–4 GCDs just to afford a single ability, despite having Intelligence enchants on both weapons and additional Intelligence gems. Could you please clarify: - What tests have you performed to confirm that Aspect of the Viper is working correctly? - What are the expected mana regeneration values, and what values did you actually measure? - How do you explain the enormous difference between the old and new cores? Are you confirming that regeneration was incorrectly overtuned on the previous core? I would really appreciate a proper numerical comparison using the intended TBC formula, ideally testing mana regeneration from OOM over a fixed period with no external buffs. I'm not claiming that the previous core was necessarily correct, but simply saying that the aspect works correctly without providing any measurements doesn't address the issue. I'd appreciate a technical explanation rather than just a statement that everything is working as intended.
