Two Weeks on the New Core

Two weeks have passed since our transition to the new core. Thank you for bearing with us through the turbulence of the first few days—updates of this scale rarely go without a hitch. The server is now running smoothly and stably. Since launch, we have deployed hundreds of additional hotfixes and resolved nearly all known issues. If you still encounter anything that seems off, please report it via our new bug tracker, and you can view the full changelog on our website, where updates are streamed live directly from our repository.

Many of you have noticed changes in melee and pet damage, as well as adjustments to how certain spells work. This is because all game mechanics and stat formulas now strictly align with the original 2.4.3 patch. For instance, on the old core, Aspect of the Viper restored far more mana than it was supposed to; it is now functioning as intended.

What has improved on the new core?
A completely revamped pathfinding system, updated anti-cheat, proper object collision, groundwork for the upcoming 2.5.x client, correct packet queuing (resolving client-side micro-freezes), server latency down to 10–25 ms, along with extensive fixes to quests, events, scripts, formulas, localization text, and more. Many of you have already noticed how much more responsive, vivid, and polished the game world feels. All of this was made possible by consolidating 15 years' worth of our custom fixes onto a solid, modern foundation that is both a pleasure to work with and built to scale.

When it comes to core mechanics and gameplay functionality, we remain committed to authentic 2.4.3 standards. In our view, this patch captures the true essence and spirit of the original Burning Crusade best. To be clear: we are intentionally not following the design choices of TBC Classic (2.5.x), where class balance and PvP mechanics were reworked. We do not view those adjustments as true to the original experience and deliberately choose not to adopt them. At the same time, this faithfulness to the canon is paired with our own quality-of-life enhancements—such as fast wipes recovery in raids, dual spec, transmogrification, and other convenience features designed to make the game more enjoyable without compromising the genuine TBC experience.

Development on the new core continues daily—we will keep actively refining and polishing it toward perfection. It has been great to see new guilds forming and players from all over the world joining the realm. Thank you all for your ongoing support!
