A fight at the top of the Karazhan tower, 10 players. Three phases: at 60% the prince takes up axes and hits the tank hard, at 30% the room quickly fills with fire. Main danger: Enfeeble leaves five players at 1 HP, with Shadow Nova and fire close by.

Phase 1: 100% to 60%

The tank keeps a wall at their back: Shadow Nova knocks back. Ranged and healers stand more than 30 yd away. Every 30 sec Enfeeble: five random players (not the tank) drop to 1 HP and cannot be healed for 9 sec, then their health returns to what it was. 3.5 sec later the prince starts Shadow Nova: 2 sec cast, 3,000 damage and a knockback within 30 yd. You have about 5 sec to get out. Shadow Word: Pain on the tank every 20 sec, dispel it. From 40 sec, every 45 sec a Netherspite Infernal lands on one of 12 fixed spots and after 4–5 sec ignites Hellfire: about 1,000 damage per second within 20 yd, for 3 minutes. It cannot be attacked.

Phase 2: 60% to 30%

He swings every 1.6 sec instead of 2 sec, every 6–8 sec Thrash gives two extra attacks, every 10–18 sec Sunder Armor takes 1,000 armor from the tank (up to 5 stacks). The prince now parries: attack from behind. Shadow Word: Pain stops, everything else continues as before.

Phase 3: 30% to the end

Enfeeble fades at once and never comes back, swings are every 2 sec again, no more parries. Prince Malchezaar's Axes are invulnerable and pick a new random player every 10 sec. Shadow Nova: the first after 17 sec, then every 18 sec. Infernals land every 15 sec and pile up. Every 20–30 sec Amplify Damage doubles all damage taken by a random player (not the tank) for 10 sec and cannot be dispelled. Every 20 sec Shadow Word: Pain hits a random player and the tank.

Tanks

Taunt does not work on the prince. If fire covers the prince, move him out.

Healers

In phase 2 keep the tank topped off, in phase 3 heal the axes' target and the player with Amplify Damage.

DPS

With Enfeeble, run out at once, around the fire. In phase 3 melee get away from Shadow Nova early: with Amplify Damage it hits twice as hard.

Common mistakes

  • An Enfeebled player did not get beyond 30 yd in time or touched fire: at 1 HP any damage kills.
  • A healer within 30 yd: Shadow Nova knocks them into an infernal's fire.
  • In phase 2 a tank without defensive cooldowns dies in seconds: Thrash on top of 5 stacks of Sunder Armor.
  • Phase 3 drags on: infernals last 3 minutes and there is less and less room.
